Lynbrook, NY Blumenfeld Development and The Prusik Group will redevelop the Regal United Artist Theatre in the downtown area’s new Arts and Cultural District.

The $25 million renovation will feature recliner seats in all auditoriums along with the Regal Premium Experience (RPX). RPX presents movies the way filmmakers intended, with powerful, uncompressed surround sound, and bright eye-popping images in 2D and 3D.?

The town approved plans for the re-development in May. Demolition and construction for the Lynbrook Theater is expected to begin in December.?

“We are truly excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the downtown Lynbrook revitalization by re-developing the United Artists Theatre, as the first project approved under the new Arts and Cultural District,” said David Blumenfeld. This project reflects our commitment to Long Island and its economic sustainability.”

The new theatre will also offer the Regal Crown Club to reward frequent guests. The Regal Crown Club is the number one theatre loyalty program in the country, allowing patrons to accumulate credits at the box office and concession stand to earn free popcorn, soft drinks and movies.

“Regal is proud to lead the way in the revitalization of the downtown Lynbrook area. Through the state-of-the-art renovations at the Lynbrook Cinema, we will offer a whole new movie-going experience featuring our plush recliners,” said Jerry Grewe, vice president of real estate for Regal Entertainment Group. “The luxury amenities at the theatre will certainly impress our guests and attract movie-goers from a wide region.”

The theatre has been an anchor of the downtown area since the beginning of the 20th century, when it first operated as a live theatre. As part of the village commitment to revitalizing its downtown, it recognizes the theatre as an integral part of its plans.
