Armao, Costa & Ricciardi welcomes Hagemeyer

Armao, Costa & Ricciardi, CPAs, P.C., has welcomed Fred Hagemeyer to the firm's Payroll Audit division. Hagemeyer is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the reports and contributions submitted by labor union clients, and determining that contributions have been properly remitted for all covered work. In a payroll audit, the auditor inspects all documentation related to the payroll, verifying that it is correct and looking for signs of issues such as employees with incomplete payroll histories and deductions which do not match contributions, among other duties. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Hagemeyer had been a permanent substitute teacher in the Babylon School District since 2010, educating students in grades K-6. He also worked as a teacher in the district's SCOPE After-School program from 2003 to 2012, providing a safe, fun, caring environment for the children of working parents. Hagemeyer previously taught at Our Lady of Lourdes Summer Camp, West Islip, and as a substitute teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School during the school year of 2009-2010. Hagemeyer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Dowling College in Oakdale. He is a New York State Certified Teacher. A sports enthusiast, Hagemeyer plays first base and outfield for the Brahma Bulls, a team in the Western Suffolk New Alliance Softball league. He also plays volleyball with the East End Volleyball League.
