Manhattan, NY Ariel Property Advisors (Ariel), a New York City-based commercial real estate services and advisory firm, is celebrating its 15th year in business.

Established in 2011 by president and founder Shimon Shkury along with founding partners Victor Sozio, Michael Tortorici, and Ivan Petrovic, Ariel later expanded its leadership team by adding two partners — Paul McCormick and Sean Kelly, Esq.

United by shared values and a collaborative culture, Ariel has grown into a 65-person operation that specializes in three core areas — investment sales, capital services and research. In 2024, Ariel formed a strategic partnership with GREA (Global Real Estate Advisors), a nationwide network of independent commercial real estate firms, which has expanded the firm’s affordable housing and financing platforms.

“Since our founding, Ariel has taken tremendous pride in the work we do, including our proprietary research reports, the depth of our underwriting and the ability to help clients think long-term and make informed decisions,” said Shkury. “All of our accomplishments are a testament to the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of our exceptional team. While we are pleased with all that Ariel has achieved over the last 15 years, we know there’s more work to be done and look ahead with great anticipation to the years to come.”

Ariel has been consistently recognized as a CoStar Power Broker and distinguished itself as a market leader in the sale of multifamily properties across New York City — particularly in the highly complex rent-stabilized and affordable housing sectors. At the same time, the firm’s development practice has expanded meaningfully, while the advisory work with some of the city’s largest nonprofit institutions has allowed it to engage with nearly every facet of New York City life. Financing has remained at the forefront of Ariel’s platform, expanded nationally through its partnership with GREA, enabling the firm to deliver fully integrated, capital-markets-driven solutions at scale.

Ariel distinguishes itself as a premier industry thought leader by producing highly cited research reports, presenting the influential “Coffee & Cap Rates” series to discuss New York City investment sales trends, publishing articles on commercial real estate for Forbes and producing podcasts on industry topics.

The company fosters an inclusive internal culture while actively supporting community organizations, volunteerism and educational programs including internships for high school students from Legal Outreach and The Chapin School and college students from various institutions. These commitments to social responsibility and workplace excellence have earned the firm numerous accolades, including being recognized on the Commercial Observer’s Power 100 list and by Globest. as one of the best places to work in commercial real estate.

As the company looks ahead, its commitment to New York City, to providing thoughtful advice to clients and to doing the work that matters, remains unchanged, Shkury said. “Most of all, we remain thankful to our clients, to our partners and to everyone who has been part of the Ariel journey over the past 15 years. You have shaped who we are and we are grateful for your continued support.”
