An exciting 4th quarter for NAIOP Upstate New York chapter

Annual Legislative Clambake: The Upstate New York Chapter held their ever-popular and well-attended annual Clambake on September 29. The audience was captivated by Congresswoman Kathy Hochul, and Brian Sampson of Unshackle Upstate. Congresswoman Hochul was elected to represent the 26th Congressional District in the May 2011 Special Election in Western New York. Hochul has been a leader for Western New York fighting for removing burdensome government regulations for small businesses, working to ensure oil speculators don't drive up gas prices, which in turn affects real estate. She updated the attendees on Federal issues and what her plans are going forward in 2012. Brian Sampson is the executive director of Unshackle Upstate. He gave an update at the State level explaining what Unshackle Upstate has done to advocate for reform in state government and in creating jobs in Upstate. The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking

Tri-state capital migrates nationally amid regulation pressure - by Reese Weaver

New York tri-state multifamily investors are increasingly reallocating capital to less-regulated markets across the U.S. as rent control and legislative risk erode returns at home.
