A.M. Best Co. assigns financial strength rating of "A" to AmTrust Title Insurance Co.

New York, NY AmTrust Title Insurance Company (ATIC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., has been assigned a Financial Strength Rating of A-(Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer credit rating of “a-” by A.M. Best Company, the world’s oldest insurance rating and information source.

The ratings resulted from factors including risk-adjusted capitalization level, ATIC’s seasoned management team, an enhanced business plan, the acquisition earlier this year of First Nationwide Title Agency, as well as the added support of parent company AmTrust Financial and affiliates, which includes capital infusions and reinsurance agreements.

According to Jason Gordon, president of AmTrust Title, “We believe the A.M. Best rating confirms our status as a stable and secure title insurance company, enabling ATIC to insure large and complex real estate transactions throughout the U.S.”

A.M. Best’s outlook reflects its expectations that ATIC will maintain current risk-adjusted capitalization levels supporting its liabilities, while achieving performance levels that align with its goals as outlined in a comprehensive business plan.
