What did you want to be when you grew up?

A kindergarten teacher. I love being around kids and watching them grow and learn new things.

What led you to your current profession?

It was my first job out of college trying to build experience and as time progressed, construction became intriguing.

Who was/is your mentor and how did s/he influence/help you in your career?

My supervisor, associate principal Scott Walker. Scott helped me mature in my position by watching him build within his. He is truly a great inspiration to many in our firm.

What trends will dominate your industry in the coming months?

The city agencies will continue to evolve and we have a team dedicated to staying on top of those trends, keeping our projects ahead of these changes.

What books or social media influencers would you recommend to other women?

Interior designers Becki Owens and Shea McGee. Both women have built impressive careers surrounding their dedication to architecture and interior design.

In the past year, what project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?

Being able to pull through my projects during the pandemic and navigate through the many changes among city agencies to keep my clients’ projects moving.

How do you contribute to your community or profession?

I try to help my team members as much as possible with whatever difficult tasks they come across. I have bi-weekly meetings to discuss new methods to help us all provide a better service to our clients and projects.
