2024 Women in Construction: Shanne Acevedo, Outsource Consultants, Inc.

Shanne Acevedo
Project Manager
Outsource Consultants, Inc.

“Shanne’s day-to-day responsibilities are focused on one of the most important aspects of construction permit consulting, specifically the temporary and final certificate of occupancy deliverable. Shanne has a can do attitude and consistently approaches her role and responsibility to the projects she handles with this perspective. She always remembers to keep the clients interest front and center. In her 3+ years of employment at Outsource Consultants, her attention to details and desire to learn have contributed to her ability to gain and keep the confidence of her clients, which at the end of the day, is paramount. I have enjoyed watching her grow and improve her skillset and knowledge of process under the guidance of her manager Carlos Duque and I am thankful she is a part of our team here at Outsource Consultants.” - Scott Walker, Associate Principal at Outsource Consultants, Inc.

What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of? I am proud of all my projects because with each one I have been able to make my clients happy during the process. Recently, the projects that I have been most proud of included closing out and obtaining the Final Certificate of Occupancy for a couple of older projects that have been with Outsource since before my time here.

What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? This industry is known to be a “Man’s World” and I love that as a Woman I play a leadership role in moving important deadlines and goals towards completion and am recognized for it.

What is one of the most exciting developments or innovations impacting the AEC industry right now? Healthcare. The development and innovations to improve the hospitals and medical facilities are exciting to me and I look forward to being a part of it.

What is your favorite building in New York? I love the entire NYC skyline, but if I had to choose, it would be the Tiffany’s building on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th St. (many projects of Outsource’s are on that block)!
