2025-Innovators in Commercial Real Estate-Alex Frants of Highcap Group LLC

Alex Frants
Senior Director
Highcap Group LLC

Corporate Culture: How does your organization foster a culture of innovation among employees and leadership? We promote innovation through open collaboration, regular idea-sharing sessions, and cross-disciplinary “deal clinics.” Blending traditional brokerage expertise with forward-looking strategies such as data-driven market analysis, targeted digital marketing campaigns, and strategic partnerships. Brokers are empowered to test new approaches — whether advanced financial modeling, AI-driven marketing, or alternate capital structures — and we reward creative risk-taking that delivers measurable results. We consistently generate strong value for sellers while providing buyers with long-term upside.

Beyond Buildings: How do you see innovation in commercial real estate creating a broader impact on communities and the people who live and work in them? By facilitating transactions that bring housing, retail & commercial services, and revitalized assets, we’re contributing to stronger neighborhoods and environments. I recently sold a $41.1 million multifamily package in Norwalk, CT with 120 units plus development rights. This transaction will create a ripple affect creating jobs, additional housing and improving the quality of life and economic resilience. I view every deal as an opportunity to positively impact not just investors, but also the communities where these properties thrive.

Innovative Outlook: Where do you see the biggest opportunities for innovation in the commercial real estate sector? Technology integration, innovative financing, and adaptive reuse. Technology is transforming how deals are sourced, marketed, and closed. Innovative financing, including joint ventures, seller financing, and tax-efficient strategies are unlocking transactions even in volatile interest rate environments. Adaptive reuse offers new possibilities in New York City and beyond, turning underutilized assets into vibrant communities. Highcap Group is committed to leading, using creativity and market intelligence to deliver results for clients while contributing to the evolution of the industry.
