2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Austin Provost, Robinson & Cole LLP

Austin Provost
Associate
Robinson & Cole LLP

Number of years at firm: 3.5

One thing on my bucket list: I started playing golf with my grandpa and grandma when I was about eight years old and fell in love with the game. For as long as I can remember, it has always been a dream of mine to play the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland – for me, to play what I consider to be the greatest game at its birthplace would be a really special experience. I’m a new father in the past year and sharing that memory with my daughter someday would make it that much sweeter.

When I am not working, I am: Spending time with my family and friends or practicing my putting for that eventual trip to St. Andrews.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? Robinson+Cole is outside counsel to a multinational corporation handling their real estate portfolio throughout North America. In that role, I handled the day-to-day interactions with the company’s real estate team, negotiating various real estate transactions. I worked on over one hundred locations throughout North America handling dispositions, new leases, and lease amendments, extensions, and surrender agreements, which right-sized the company’s portfolio in line with its current business needs. The hands-on experience of being at the table with the company’s real estate team was a meaningful exercise in growth and comfortability with the substance of negotiations from the company’s perspective.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“At the most fundamental level, Austin’s deep commitment to high quality client service makes him a rising star here at Robinson+Cole and in the legal communities where he works. Austin is also patient and courteous with everyone involved on his matters and is a highly valued colleague.” - Matthew Lawlor, Partner, Chair of Real Estate + Development Group at Robinson & Cole LLP
