What are your predictions for commercial real estate in 2020?
Commercial real estate will contend with the legislative changes which appear to have diminished the multifamily investment sales market. Investment sales are expected to strike a nine-year low by year’s end, according to one report. Brokers and investors are scampering to find other opportunities. And while the industry has begun funding legal and lobbying strategies, some developers and investors have looked to arguing the case in the media and/or attempting to find common ground with political leaders. The solution will come only after the public and leadership grasp the full consequences of turning a system too far in another direction and when leaders will come up with solutions to make the city stable for its residents and the businesses that support it.
