How have you navigated obstacles to achieve success in your career?

I believe that my success comes from a combination of hard work, good relationships, and making time to pursue my interests at work and in my personal life. When I hit an obstacle, I think it’s important to make time to pursue new interests (within the field or personal). This helps me press the restart button and motivates me to work hard to move past the obstacle. I count on family and friends who support me when I pursue new initiatives.

How do you play your strengths to your advantage in your career?

I use my excellent communication skills to develop relationships with peers and clients. Clients enjoy working with me because I can effectively convey any issues that may arise and propose a resolution. My calm and clear-headed approach to speaking with clients gives them confidence that our team can tackle any challenges that come our way.

What trends are you seeing so far this year?

I am seeing a lot of projects previously put on hold coming back to life. This shows that developers are feeling confident in the economic outlook yet remaining cautious. I am also seeing projects that are incorporating more features of a well-rounded lifestyle. All types of new developments (residential, commercial, university) are incorporating features that cater to the need for easy access to health, wellness, and flexible spaces.

What do you do for fun?

Spending time with my family and friends outdoors, and being active.
