What was your most notable project, deal, transaction or professional achievement in 2016?

The most notable project was the successful location of a Dick’s Sporting Goods, Inc. Regional Distribution Center in the Broome Corporate Park. This project will result in nearly $100 million in private investment and the creation of 466 jobs over the next five years.

What project, transaction, market trend or product had the greatest impact on your industry this year?

We have seen an increased vibrancy in the area of technologists and creatives as well as the expansion of university-based startups like Sonostics and Charge CCCV, which was an award winner in New York’s 76West Clean Energy competition.

How will you be supercharging your productivity in 2017? 

We will place a strategic focus on workforce and talent attraction with our Broome County…a good life initiative (http://broomeisgood.com) and a continued focus on creating new development sites and revitalizing the urban core through expanded financing programs.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2017?

Two significant Binghamton University projects will drive investment in the year ahead. First is the completion of the Southern Tier Hi-Tech Incubator in downtown Binghamton which will focus on the commercialization of energy and health care technologies and the second is the continued construction of the BU School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, which will drive investment in a new industry sector in Broome County.
