How did you get your start in real estate?

My husband, Jeffrey Pliskin who is CEO and President of Pliskin Realty and Development asked me to come on board to help out with the company’s growing marketing needs.

What recent honor, achievement or recognition has meant the most to you and why?

As Pliskin Realty’s marketing director, I have achieved important goals including the launch of a new website, institutional ads and a social media campaign. Recently, in addition to my role as marketing director, I have taken on the responsibility of property manager  for our buildings located outside of the NY-Metropolitan area.  Pliskin’s property management portfolio has expanded considerably and we are now overseeing over 85 retail properties across the nation including: Florida, Utah, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. I am particularly proud of my role in one of our newest acquisitions which is a medical building located in Atlantis, Florida. I have visited the building, met with tenants, and secured local vendors to improve the physical appearance and maintain the building. My attention to detail and responsiveness to tenant concerns is something that I feel is adding significant value to this property and others.

Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why?

Jeffrey Pliskin has been the strongest influence on my career as he has trusted me to come into business with him. He continues to teach me much about every aspect of real estate. On a daily basis, I am learning new things which I am applying in my dual roles. On the property management side, Jeff has taught me about tenant-owner relations, how to work with various subcontractors, preventive building maintenance, expense management, and reporting to owners. His mentoring and insights into the nuances of our services are helping me immensely to maintain Pliskin’s high standards of property management. Working at Pliskin Realty is not just a job for either of us.  It is our family business and something that we can share, in and out of the office.   Jeff has over 30 years in the business and is a great mentor and partner to me.
