100 Women Who Care donates $7,000 to Birthday Wishes of Long Island

Members of 100 Women Who Care voted to award their January meeting's donations checks to Birthday Wishes of Long Island. Birthday Wishes of Long Island brings the magic of a birthday party to thousands of homeless children each year. Founded in 2002 as a volunteer organization serving one local shelter, Birthday Wishes has expanded its program to serve more than 200 shelters and transitional living facilities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Long Island. Birthday Wishes of Long Island believes that all children, regardless of their living situation, should celebrate their birthdays joyfully, surrounded by family, friends, and others who care. Birthday Wishes events are more than just parties, they provide hope, help homeless children build self-esteem, and allow them to experience a normalcy that may be absent from their lives. Congratulations to Birthday Wishes of Long Island! This quarterly donation is anticipated to be in excess of $7,000 when all checks have been received.
