09-19-2012 - Bowles to speak at CoreNet event

CoreNet Global New York City Chapter's Distinguished Speaker Program will feature Erskine Bowles on September 19 from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. The event will be held at the Grand Hyatt N.Y., 109 East 42nd St. at the Grand Central Terminal, Manhattan Ballroom. The subject will be "The Debt Crisis: The Tough Choices Ahead for America." Bowles is the former co-chair of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. The product of that commission was a bi-partisan plan to reduce our nation's federal deficit, more commonly known as the "Simpson-Bowles Plan." Everyone in Washington knows America's current fiscal path is unsustainable, but few have the political will to enact the hard choices that must be made to get the country back on track. Appointed by President Obama to co-chair the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, Erskine Bowles provides a candid discourse on what America's leaders must do to confront what many see as the largest and most critical economic, social, business and national security threat that the country faces. Bowles will offer enlightening insights into issues ranging from from taxes, entitlement and Social Security reform to encouraging business growth.
