April 22, 2013 - Front Section
Members of the New York metropolitan area's leading women's real estate associations will gather for fun and fundraising as "CREW Crosses State Lines for Business and Charity," a special members-only event to benefit CREW Network Foundation, on Thursday, May 16th. The dinner, reception and raffle, open exclusively to members of the New York Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women's Network (NYCREW), CREW NJ, CREW CT and the Association of Real Estate Women, will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Suites at the MetLife Building at Grand Central Terminal (200 Park Avenue at 44th Street).
Proceeds from the event will benefit CREW Network Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CREW Network. The foundation's programs educate women and girls about the career opportunities available to them and creating mentoring relationships for those new to the industry.
"We are delighted to network and socialize with our sister chapter members from CREW CT, CREW NJ and AREW, as well as to have the opportunity to raise money for a worthwhile charitable cause such as CREW Network Foundation, the only foundation dedicating its resources solely towards advancing women in the commercial real estate industry," says Shari Linnick, a Vice President of Trepp LLC and 2013 NYCREW President. "Our organizations have always supported each other and worked together for common causes, and CREW Network Foundation is one of the best."
The event will include hors d'oeuvres, dinner, wine and beer, as well as a raffle of luxury items donated by Barbara E. Champoux Esq. of Crowell & Moring LLP, including a Carlos Falchi clutch, Roberto Cavalli and Jimmy Choo silk scarves, a Salvatore Ferragamo business card case, and a gift certificate to the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon. Raffle tickets are $10 each, or three for $25.
"Crowell & Moring is proud to continue its support of NYCREW and CREW, and their goals of advancing all women in our industry," says Champoux, a partner at Crowell & Moring, as well as NYCREW's Foundation Champion, and a NYCREW Past President and board member. "We strongly believe that one of the keys to empowering women in this industry is to encourage, engage and educate the next generation of women from all parts of the country and all walks of life to join this great industry. We have worked closely with CREW and our sister CREW chapters over the years to do so."
Tickets for the event are $110. Advance registration is required, with the deadline for purchasing tickets 5:00 p.m. on May 10th. CREW Network Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, with contributions deductible as charitable donations for Federal tax purposes.
