Winter of JLL proud of 100,000 s/f lease for Beth Israel Cancer Ctr.

Name: Barbara Winter Title: Managing Director Company Name: JLL Years in Commercial Real Estate: 29 In the last 12 months, which project, transaction, honor or accomplishment are you most proud of and why? I am most proud of the 100,000 s/f lease extension we completed for Beth Israel Cancer Center at 111 Eighth Ave. We enabled Beth Israel to continue providing important cancer services to the local community by achieving sustainable rent levels on a long term basis. Who are three women- living or dead - that you would like to have drinks with and why? Beryl Markham - She was a Kenyan bush pilot and among other accomplishments was the first woman to cross the Atlantic east-west in solo flight. A conversation with her would be inspiring: she was a fearless adventurer who lived life to the fullest. Gertrude Stein — literary innovator and collector of modern art. Her circle included Hemingway, Picasso, Matisse and Fitzgerald. She would have great stories to tell. 3. Condolezza Rice — Even better than drinks would be taking her international relations seminar at Stanford. What was your first job and what did you learn from it? My first job was as a babysitter, and I learned an important lesson. Always negotiate my fee up front. What is your favorite quote? "Restlessness is discontent — and discontent is the first necessity of progress. Show me a thoroughly satisfied man — and I will show you a failure." - Thomas Edison
