VVA selected by Mount Sinai Health System for consolidation project
VVA Project Managers & Consultants has been selected by Mount Sinai Health System to manage its corporate consolidation project. The Mount Sinai Health System unifies Continuum Health Partner's community-oriented Hospitals (Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan and Brooklyn, St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals in Manhattan, and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary) with Mount Sinai Hospital, a leading specialized academic medical center.
The new organization is one of the largest comprehensive healthcare systems in the N.Y. metro area and the largest non-profit health system in the country with over 500,000 emergency visits annually, 3,500 beds, almost 200,000 inpatient admissions, more than 2.5 million outpatient visits and 36,000 employees.
Both Continuum Health Partners (CHP) and Mount Sinai (MSH) currently lease and own multiple locations throughout the city to house corporate services. The consolidation of MSHS headquarters into 450,000 s/f at 150 East 42nd St. in Midtown Manhattan will reduce costs, increase operating efficiencies and foster an environment of collaboration to maximize productivity.
VVA is managing the entire fit-out and relocation process for the new headquarters, including programming, design and construction document oversight, consultant selection, bid process/ leveling, cost management, permitting/filing, construction administration, move-in, and post occupancy services.
VVA managing director Dana Panzarino said, "We had been following the merger talks between MSH and CHP for quite some time, and are delighted to be part of the team that is helping the two organizations come together to provide world class healthcare services to New York City."
"We are truly happy to have VVA on board as the project and cost managers for this large and critical consolidation effort," commented Kenneth Holden, chief facilities officer for the Mount Sinai Health System. "VVA's experience and tenacity has proven to be invaluable from the initial master planning stages. We've already saved significant dollars through their competitive bidding process and pre-purchasing efforts. VVA has helped us put together an integrated and dynamic team of professionals to bring the project forward in line with our budget and schedule."
VVA is a leading project management consultant in healthcare construction and has built out over 350,000 s/f of patient space. The firm also provides Project Management and Cost Consulting services across all market sectors, including: law firms, financial services, media & entertainment, hospitality, education, government, new building development, non-profits, and retail.
