News:
Owners Developers & Managers
"Smart Strategies for Stressful Times," the BOMA/NY Annual Conference and Trade Show being held October 8, at the Grand Hyatt New York, turns the spotlight on three key pieces of legislation that will affect New York's building owners and managers by the end of the year. But before the sleeves roll up and the workshops begin, attendees will hear NYC comptroller Bill Thompson (D) deliver the keynote address - the first time ever that a Mayoral candidate has addressed BOMA/NY during the campaign season - starting at 2 p.m.
Thompson will outline his vision for the city and expand on the words he spoke when throwing his hat into the ring against powerful incumbent Michael Bloomberg (I): "As Mayor, I will continue to fight for fairness and opportunity for all New Yorkers. Our city is, and must remain, a beacon of opportunity...."
Whether as the youngest deputy borough president in the city's history, president of the board of education, congressional aide or in his current role as comptroller, Thompson is a proven leader who has aggressively worked to strengthen the city's finances, uncover waste and abuse and safeguard the city's finances. Managing a staff of 700, Thompson's work impacts every aspect of New York's operations.
Following his talk, the conference will open with time for viewing the Trade Show Exhibitions in the Grand Hyatt's Manhattan Ballroom Foyer and Outer Lobby. Conference goers will be able to visit the exhibits throughout the conference.
