Stalco Construction, Inc., a New York City and Islandia, NY-based general contractor and construction manager, held a festive Oktoberfest-themed Fifth Real Estate Movers & Shakers Reception, a popular industry event that traditionally brings together Long Island's business executives and community leaders. More than 270 real estate, finance, architecture, engineering, and construction professionals attended the festivities at Stalco's headquarters.
"We are excited to again host representatives of Long Island's top real estate and AEC companies," said Stalco principal & CEO Kevin Harney. "Stalco Real Estate Movers & Shakers Networking Receptions provide a much needed platform for our industry to discuss issues affecting both the building community and all businesses throughout the region."
The event also raised funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities and Contractors For Kids (CFK) by auctioning off a New York Jets-autographed football helmet donated by Kevin Harney. Harney and Stalco President Alan Nahmias founded CFK, a charity supported by more than 300 construction, real estate and design professionals in 2005. To date, CFK has raised nearly $2.6 million and assisted more than 230 families of seriously ill children. CFK focuses on providing financial support related to the cost of medical treatments, travel and other expenses incurred by families of children struggling with serious diseases and medical conditions.
