PWC: Growth and evolution of a organization in a dynamic industry

Over the past 35 years, PWC has become a recognized and respected institution in the construction industry. I am committed to carrying on the core values of the organization, to advance professional, entrepreneurial and managerial opportunities for women and other “non-traditional” populations in construction and related industries.

One of my top priorities will be to expand our scholarship and mentorship programs to support women interested in the AEC industry. We will work with colleges and universities to not only give women funding to pursue careers in construction, engineering and architecture, but also to develop programs to encourage interest for the next generation to enter these fields early in their educational career.

Another big priority is to provide resources for WMBEs to help close the gap in the achievement of contract awards. We will promote opportunities, provide knowledge on certification processes, and work with other organizations that can offer career advancement opportunities to our members. We will be giving our website a makeover in the coming months, with the intent to have these types of resources readily available.

Finally, we intend to continue to present informative and thought-provoking programs that bring our members together while providing introductions to key players in the AEC industry. These events are meant to connect us, give a forum to network, and introduce major upcoming opportunities.

I am thrilled to be serving as the executive director of PWC. When I started here at the beginning of August, I took a dive into the deep end and I couldn’t feel more inspired about what I have learned, the great members I have encountered, and the efforts that we are undertaking. I look forward to facilitating the evolution and growth of PWC.

Most people join their board because they care. They’re volunteering nights and weekends to make their building safer, smarter, and friendlier. Those first 100 days are when that fresh energy can do the most good. Homeowners spend more than 60% of their lives inside their buildings, so every early decision — good or bad — echoes through bedrooms, hallways, and common spaces.

As we head into 2026, one thing is clear: deals aren’t won by who has the best asset; they’re won by who presents it best. Yet many owners, operators, and brokers are entering the new year with outdated photos, inconsistent branding, and limited digital presence. This
