On December 7, 2007 Professional Women in Construction (PWC-NY National) celebrated its 27th year in grand style at the annual gala holiday dinner dance as guests kicked up their heels to the music of the Stan Rubin Orchestra. Guest of honor William Thompson, Jr., comptroller of the City of New York, saluted PWC President Lenore Janis and the organization noting that "The leadership of PWC has helped to change attitudes and to open up work opportunities."
Janis cheered PWC's continued success noting that there are now five chapters, and over 1,000 members. She presented Certificates of Appreciation to the members of the dinner dance committee, chair Linda Christensen, Tishman Realty & Construction Co., Inc.; Lina Gottesman, Altus Metal & Marble; Frank Fellone, DP Consulting Corp.; Gwendolyn Colbert Kushner, GCK Consulting of NY; Connie DeLaigle, Port Authority of N.Y./N.J.; Jackie Horowitz, Turner Construction Company; Andy Frankl, IBEX Construction; and Marylou Berk, Morgan Stanley.
Christensen praised the "phenomenal growth" of PWC and thanked some of PWC's "unsung heroes," the "cheerleading" men who have supported the organization through the years: Anthony Peterson, Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority; Robert Foreman, Port Authority; Jay Badame, Tishman Construction Corp.; Anthony Baker, ACB Architects & Planners; Gregory Murphy, Skanska USA Building, Inc; and William Quinn, Phoenix Constructors.
