Endelson and Deitch of Aries Deitch & Endelson secure two leases for Shoprite

March 5, 2010 - Shopping Centers
According to Aries Deitch & Endelson, Midway Shopping Center recently signed a new anchor: Shoprite. The center is located on Central Ave. and was built circa 1960. Until 2008, Linens & Things anchored 60,000 s/f on 2-floors in this 240,000 s/f center, which was modernized in 2005. Before Linens & Things' bankruptcy, Aries Deitch & Endelson, exclusive broker, rented space to Dress Barn, Panera Bread, People's Bank, and Palm Beach Tan. A lower level family activity floor was developed for Great Play Kid's Gym, Denny's Childrenswear, a prenatal imaging center and Paint Your Pottery. The Linens & Things ground floor was 25,000 s/f, and the recession made several adjoining spaces available. Still, 47,000 s/f on grade was far from an ideal size for a major supermarket chain. Barry Endelson and Marty Deitch of Aries Deitch & Endelson were able to convince Shoprite Supermarkets that Midway had huge sales potential by utilizing the basement storage space. A lease for high volume, luxury format Shoprite was recently signed. The store has a summer 2010 opening scheduled. Shoprite was thrilled to enter the Scarsdale market. Soon thereafter Aries Deitch & Endelson rented them 75,000 s/f at the White Plains City Center. A summer 2010 opening is also planned.
