On November 19, the Rochester area chapter of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors (NYSCAR) held its 2009 President's Dinner and Awards Banquet at the Genesee Valley Club. At the event, outgoing board members, Brian DiNardo of DiNardo Realty Corp. and David Dworkin, LLD Enterprises, were recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award. DiNardo, a founding member of the RAC board, has been committed to the organization for 15 years and was the original chair of the events committee, in effect creating and maintaining the single most prominent and sustained member benefit of our organization; the monthly developer sponsored lunches. Additionally, he has served as president of the RAC, and in recent years has begun to work at the state level serving on the board of governors. "Brian has been instrumental to our very existence as an organization," said Ted Welter, RAC BOD VP. Dworkin, also a founding member of the BOD, was the founding president, serving several years as such and has remained on the RAC BOD for its entire existence. He has been the sole committee member, along with his wife, Wendy Dworkin, responsible for the Annual President's Dinner from the Chapter's inception. He has also committed at the state level having previously served as state president, other positions on the board of governors and numerous committees. Dworkin's activity on behalf of the organization was and is pivotal to the creation, management, growth and success of our organization. Joseph Rowley, Jr., and Harry Gleason of CBRE received the "Commercial Deal of the Year" Award in recognition for the Edwards communities land assemblage opposite RIT, which had an approximate combined value of land purchases in the amount of $4.1 million, involving 29 acres, and took two years to complete. Rowley also received the "Meritorious Service" Award for his tireless work for the chapter and the commercial industry at the state level as well as serving on the board of governors and working on various state committees. He is next in line to step in as the president of NYSCAR as well. The event also included the installation of officers for 2010. Dworkin presided over the swearing in of Kevin Bruckner as president, Ted Welter as VP, Mark Rohlin as treasurer and Andrew Dollinger as secretary. New director, Bernard Fallon, was also sworn in.
