Shopping Centers
According to Centro Properties Group, Toys'R'Us/Babies'R'Us has opened at DSW Plaza at Lake Grove, located just off of the Nesconset Hwy./Smithtown Bypass, on the southeast corner of Middle Country Rd. (Rte. 25) and Moriches Rd.
Construction of the new 'R' Superstore, a full-size Toys'R'Us and Babies'R'Us store under one roof, began in February 2009 when the former Stop & Shop building was turned over to the retailer. Toys'R'Us created a new storefront façade, constructed loading docks and reconfigured the parking lot. The new 'R' Superstore at DSW Plaza Lake Grove, with a total leased space of 71,343 s/f, is the first of its kind to open on Long Island. Centro was represented by Greg Levine with Centro.
Centro, the owner of DSW Plaza at Lake Grove, recently implemented center-wide site enhancements which worked within the architectural design standards of the Village of Lake Grove.
Colonial revival-style decorative fences and brick piers now accent the center. New lighting was installed and landscaping was added along Moriches Rd. and at the entrance to the center. Pedestrian friendly safety enhancements, such as speed bumps and new crosswalks, were also installed. Centro invested approximately $200,000 to accomplish these center-wide site enhancements.
The Centro team included: Bohler Engineering of Ronkonkoma, and Titan Engineering of Union, N.J. as the engineering firms; RAK Electric of Smithtown, as the electrician; and Lakota Construction of Ronkonkoma as the general contractor.
Centro also completed the following leases:
* Executed with Fuji Hibachi and 2,567 s/f lease has been executed with Carbonella, a coal fire pizza restaurant, at Wallkill Plaza, located northwest of I-84, on the southeast corner of Rte. 211 East and Carpenter Ave. in Middletown. Centro is the owner of Wallkill Plaza and was represented by Steve Teplick with Centro.
* A 1,925 s/f Sally Beauty recently opened at Roanoke Plaza, located approximately 2.5 miles north of exit 73 on I-495 east, on Old Country Rd. (Rte. 58) at Roanoke Ave. in Riverhead. Greg Batista of Pliskin Realty, represented Sally Beauty. Centro is the owner of Roanoke Plaza and was represented by Nick Andreadis with Centro.
