November 20, 2009 - Brokerage
According to mayor Robert Duffy, the city issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the sale and redevelopment of city-owned property located at 116 West Main St. The city is seeking proposals from qualified development teams for the redevelopment of the 1.5-acre parcel, which is currently used as a surface parking lot. This parcel represents a major real estate development opportunity along West Main St. and North Plymouth Ave., within the Inner Loop. The city intends to select a plan that increases the tax base, provides a mix of uses compatible and complementary with existing neighbors; employs construction and development methods that promote environmental sensitivity and sustainability; and includes high quality designs that improve the public realm. The deadline for submitting proposals is 4:30 p.m., Dec. 21. Proposals should be sent to: Department of Neighborhood and Business Development, 30 Church St. Room 005A, Rochester, N.Y., 14614. "The development of this prominent site is highly anticipated within the downtown community," said Duffy. "Nearby Buckingham Commons and development within the Cascade District have already created significant revitalization momentum in this area and the development of 116 W. Main St. will continue that momentum." The deadline for submitting proposals is 4:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21. Proposals should be sent to: Department of Neighborhood and Business Development, 30 Church St. Room 005A, Rochester, N.Y., 14614.
