Suffolk County Republican Women hosted a "Woman of Distinction Celebration Dinner" at the Watermill. This year's powerhouse honoree for the award was Marie Zere, founder of Suffolk County Republican Women and the president & CEO of Zere Real Estate Services, the first female-owned commercial real estate firm on Long Island and in New York State. The company is celebrating its 28th business anniversary. She is considered to be a strong advocate for regional business development and a trail blazing pioneer for women in business with transactions and deals that have been beneficial to our communities, providing thousands of jobs that continually stimulate the economic growth of Long Island in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
The event turned out to be fun and a success with hundreds of attendees. The nights events included honoring our troops, The Long Island 9/11 Memorial Foundation, a silent auction featured dazzling jewelry by international designer Duneier of New York and there was also a prestige hand bag collection auction that had all of the ladies in a tail spin. There was also a fashion show with live music during the cocktail reception sponsored by national retailer Coldwater Creek, followed by a wonderful reception dinner program that was jam packed full of political banter, Zere's political and business history with a special viewing of a short film of her over her lifetime of dedication to public office and business. In addition, special messages from Rudy Giuliani and Sean Hannity were presented along with proclamations from local and state officials. Men were welcome and they were given complimentary cigars. A great time was truly had by all.
The event sponsors were the New York Real Estate Journal, Long Island Pulse Magazine, The Long Island 9/11 Memorial Foundation, Duneier of New York and Coldwater Creek.
