Greater Buffalo BOMA chapter holds annual Faces of BOMA awards

Greater Buffalo BOMA presented its annual Faces of BOMA Awards during a celebration luncheon at Harry's Harbour Place Grille. The recipients include: Real Estate Development of the Year, Avant, Uniland; Property Manager of the Year, Jack Osler, Ciminelli; BOMA Residential Property Manager of the Year, Sam Reeder, Calamar; BOMA Engineer of the Year, David Deck, National Fuel Gas; BOMA Vendor Member of the Year, Karl Krug, Schindler Elevator; BOMA Vendor Member of the Year, Frank Grandinetti Jr., Grand Jude Plumbing; BOMA Member of the Year, Tina Coppins, AppleTree Business Park/AmCap; BOMA Exceptional Tenant Service Award, Lafayette Court Building management team, Ciminelli; BOMA Project Coordinator of the Year, Susan Heimiller, CBRE|Buffalo; BOMA Building Mechanic of the Year, Fred Frier, Seneca One Realty; and BOMA Janitorial Firm of the Year, William Held Jr., Held's Janitorial Services.
Over 90 BOMA members and colleagues attended to recognize individuals and companies for their achievements and success in their work in the commercial real estate industry.
These awards honor individuals and companies who exemplify outstanding leadership as well as a commitment to go beyond the expected standards of service and professionalism. "Buffalo BOMA has a very diverse membership which includes building owners, facility managers, developers, and the services and supplies companies that help make our buildings run efficiently, and offer a beautiful, comfortable environment for tenants and their clients," said Jennifer Aiple, BOMA executive director. "This year, we expanded our award categories so that we could better represent all of the individuals and companies that contribute to the success of managing a commercial real estate building!"
Uniland Development Company's AVANT building was named the BOMA 2009 Real Estate Development of the Year. The Avant, a mixed use hotel, office and condo residence is an $83 million transformation of the former federal office building on Delaware Ave. The AVANT includes 28 condos, a 153-room Hilton Embassy Suites Hotel and class A office space in addition to a variety of first-class amenities.
Greater Buffalo BOMA is a not-for-profit trade association providing an array of services to commercial property professionals, including labor negotiations, legislative and regulatory advocacy, and professional development.
