The Kaufman Org. brokered a seven-year, 5,200 s/f lease at 519 Eighth Ave. for The Fiver Children's Foundation, Inc. Steven Kaufman and Barbara Raskob of Kaufman represented the landlord. Carri Lyon of Cushman and Wakefield, Inc. represented the tenant. The Fiver Children's Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth development programs to children and young adults from underserved neighborhoods. It strives to empower children by implementing a 10-year commitment plan for each child to help build character, develop leadership skills and reach their full potential. This plan includes mentoring, counseling and summer programs, as well as partnerships with school and community groups. The foundation's new office will serve as headquarters for the emergent organization. The space was previously occupied by Remco Button Company and Burt Trimmings. "We were thrilled to help an organization that serves many New York City children find the perfect space. The new headquarters fits the needs of the foundation and will accommodate the future growth of The Fiver Children's Foundation," said Kaufman. 519 Eighth Ave. is a 26-story building constructed in 1927 in Manhattan's Garment District. The 349,000 s/f building is home to diverse retail and office tenants such as, New York City Transit Authority, Teach for America, New York Elevator Co. and Amici 36.
