We continued to offer excellent programming and resources for women in commercial real estate as well as encourage and educate young women considering a career in commercial real estate via the CREW Careers Program. What was your most notable project, deal or transaction in 2012? : Barbara E. Champoux, a founding member of NYCREW, currently represents RACER, the largest environmental trust in U.S. history and the third largest holder of industrial property in the U.S., with a portfolio of former General Motors industrial plants comprised of over 44 million square feet of industrial space, 66 buildings and 7,000 acres in 14 states. RACER's mission is to help U.S. auto communities hurt by the GM bankruptcy, by spurring economic development and creating jobs in those communities, through remediation and revitalization. What are your predictions for commercial real estate in 2013? : The commercial real estate market will continue to recover and produce strong results in 2013. Although we do not expect a significant rise in values and returns, we do believe the worst is behind us and that transaction volume will increase throughout the coming year. What are your resolutions for 2013? : We would like to continue our mission to achieve parity for women in commercial real estate through power, influence and opportunity. We are hoping to substantially increase our membership as well as continue to offer excellent programming and resources for women in commercial real estate.
