After 12 months and a $60-plus million investment, Denihan Hospitality Group (DHG) will unveil The Surrey Hotel on November 1, following a renovation. Located on East 76th St. between Madison and Fifth Aves., The Surrey complements its sought-after address with coveted services and amenities, featuring hotel and in-room dining crafted by Daniel Boulud's Café Boulud, a key-accessed rooftop garden, private spa featuring customized treatments, and new penthouse and presidential suites.
With the addition of 58 keys to the property, The Surrey now offers 190 guest accommodations, including 30 one-bedroom suites, a new 1,150 s/f penthouse suite and the 4,500 s/f presidential suite, all featuring custom Duxiana beds. As envisioned by architectural designer Lauren Rottet, of Rottet Studio, customized design details reflect the hotel's surrounding residential, cultural and retail neighbors and resonate throughout the residential-style landmark.
"The renovation and repositioning of The Surrey is a crowning achievement for DHG and will be an ideal complement to our portfolio of managed and owned branded and independent properties," said Brooke Barrett, co-CEO of DHG. "Providing a new level of accommodation for today's luxury traveler, The Surrey will be imbued with the persona of the sophisticated and worldly Upper East Side resident."
Co-CEO Patrick Denihan commented, "DHG's reinvestment in The Surrey is a part of our continued drive for growth through reinvestment in our existing hotels, as well as the pursuit of management contracts, acquisitions and joint developments."
