The Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS) presented three members of the organization with its Rising Star Awards.
The honorees were presented their awards at CIBS annual Meet Your Associates Party on Nov. 1 at the Fox Hollow Inn, a catering facility. The honorees are Steven D'Orazio, an associate at Sutton & Edwards Inc., Lake Success; Marisa Karmitz, an associate broker at Cushman & Wakefield Inc., Melville; and Aaron Trembley, a sales associate at Oxford & Simpson Realty Services Inc., Jericho.
The awards, presented annually by CIBS, recognize new commercial brokers and real estate salespeople in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
"These are outstanding new members of our industry and we wish them considerable success in the future," said Raymond Ruiz, president of CIBS.
D'Orazio has been a commercial real estate broker for more than two years, primarily in the office leasing. D'Orazio has been involved in leasing and sale transactions totaling more than 100,000 s/f and currently represents more than 120,000 s/f of space in various locations around the Island.
Karmitz has been with Cushman & Wakefield since September 2006. She has been involved in leasing transactions totaling 90,000 s/f, representing both tenants and landlords.
Trembley has been a broker with Oxford & Simpson for the past 2 1/2 years, where he has been involved in leasing transactions totaling more than 100,000 s/f. He also has been involved in industrial building sales and investment property sales.
Roy Chipkin, who has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, has been honored with the Annual Achievement Award of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS).
Chipkin, a member of the CIBS board and co-chairman of the organization's membership committee, is a first vice president in the Woodbury office of the commercial real estate services firm CB Richard Ellis. He also received the award Nov. 1 at CIBS' annual Meet Your Associates Party. The award recognizes a CIBS member who has provided significant service to the professional organization.
"Roy has served longer on the CIBS board than any other member in our organization and we are thankful for his years of dedication to the organization," said Ruiz.
