Jones Lang LaSalle completed a lease transaction for Syska Hennessy Group Inc. at 1515 Broadway, also known as One Astor Plaza, with SL Green Realty Corp. The engineering firm signed a 15-year direct lease with the real estate investment trust for 64,788 s/f at the 1.9 million s/f office building.
Jones Lang LaSalle's New York office represented the tenant and the building owner in the transaction. Syska Hennessy, the tenant, was represented by Peter Riguardi, president, and Cynthia Wasserberger, managing director. Building owner SL Green was represented by Frank Doyle, international director, and David Kleiner, senior vice president.
"Syska Hennessy sought new premises for its New York headquarters that would be appropriate for its image in the marketplace," said Riguardi. "The engineering firm was comfortable with SL Green's reputation and stature in New York, and was attracted by the significant amenities that 1515 Broadway could offer its employees and clients. The building featured very efficient, column-free floor plates that could accommodate the open-plan layout the tenant had designed for its new offices, providing great views and substantial natural lighting for all of its employees. Syska Hennessy intends to seek LEED certification for its new offices and ownership will be cooperative with that initiative."
Syska Hennessy will occupy a total of 64,788 s/f at 1515 Broadway, located at Broadway and West 44th St., representing the 14th and 15th floors. The engineering firm is relocating to the class A office building from 11 West 42nd St.
