Triangle Equities has received the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce 2009 Building Brooklyn Award for economic development for their Triangle Junction Mall in the Flatbush neighborhood. The development was done in cooperation with Brooklyn College and the Flatbush Redevelopment Corp., as well as the local community boards; to revitalize the Flatbush area by revamping an underutilized, defunct municipal parking lot into a 600,000 s/f shopping center anchored by Target and includes a 500 car parking garage, thereby reinvigorating the retail presence of the area.
Lester Petracca, owner of Triangle Equities said, "This development was rewarding in so many ways-we were able to enhance a retail corridor for the community; the positive working relationship with community groups and local elected officials; and overcoming the challenging construction and environmental issues. Triangle is very proud of the team work that it required to bring this invigorating development to completion and of the award we are receiving from the Brooklyn Chamber."
