90 North 5th St., a new, six-story building, opened on June 27 with nearly 150 buyers attending the Grand Opening event. Located in the heart of North Williamsburg, the apartments are stylish, modern units in a design-rich building.
According to David Maundrell, president of aptsandlofts.com, the opening offered buyers an "educational, social and theatrical culinary experience," with hors d'oeuvres prepared by caterer A Razor, A Shiny Knife in one of the units and a chance to preview one of Williamsburg's newest developments.
Located between Berry St. and Wythe Ave., the building is six stories with a two-toned façade. The condominiums are open convertible one-bedroom lofts, two-bedroom two bathroom units, duplex garden apartments and triplex penthouses with nearly 20-foot ceilings. Sizes range from 630 s/f studio lofts to nearly 1,200 s/f for penthouses.
Each apartment features Wolf and Subzero appliances, George Kovacs sconces and design touches such as twig door handle hardware in the kitchens.
"These are really dynamic apartments," said Aaron Gertz, president of the developers, Dunlop and Craig Development. Gertz is also affiliated with Balfour General Contracting and Construction, headed by Marc Weisz. This is their third project in Williamsburg and their most cutting-edge, says Gertz. He credits both aptsandlofts.com and interior designer Maggie Rogotsky of Brooklyn-based Haute Couture Design for helping them create a building that will appeal to the high-end, design-conscious buyer looking for a home that is both "exciting and comfortable."
