Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., Inc., a subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp., has signed a 10-year, 24,771 s/f lease at The Treeline Cos.' 1225 Franklin Ave. Plaza, according to Kraig Silver, executive VP of Treeline. Jay Stewart of Grubb & Ellis (G&E) and Roger Wooster of Sutton & Edwards, Inc. represented the tenant. Silver negotiated on behalf of Treeline. Located adjacent to the Nassau County court complex and county seat, 1225 Franklin Ave. Plaza is a five-story, 205,000 s/f class A office building featuring meeting facilities, executive dining, a fitness center, and on-site owner management. It is connected to the 191,000 s/f 1325 Franklin Ave. Plaza, part of the four-building 520,000 s/f Franklin Ave. Plaza portfolio acquired by Treeline in March of 2007. The new lease represents a relocation and expansion for Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., which was previously located at 50 Charles Lindbergh Blvd. in Uniondale. "We are extremely pleased to welcome a firm of Stifel, Nicolaus' stature to our tenant roster. The four-building office complex at Franklin Ave. Plaza has always been an attractive alternative to Manhattan for financial services firms," said Silver. "After evaluating their long-term office space needs with a desire to remain in the area, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company decided to relocate to our property because of the convenient location, hands-on management and responsiveness that The Treeline Companies provides for our tenants." Established in 1985, Treeline Companies is a premier, full-service real estate ownership and investment firm based in Garden City. Although Treeline's roots are in Long Island, its branches extend throughout the five boroughs of N.Y.C. and the greater New York metropolitan area.
