Douglas Manditch, the chairman and chief executive officer of Empire National Bank, an Islandia-based commercial bank, will be honored by the Child Care Council of Suffolk, Inc. at the organization's fourth annual "Champions of Children" luncheon. The event, slated for October 16, will be held at the Crest Hollow Country Club.
"The services provided by the Child Care Council of Suffolk assure that quality child care is available for all Suffolk County families," said Manditch. "It's very rewarding to be honored by an organization that has such a vital role in our community. Parents, children, employers, child care providers and the public benefit from assistance provided by the Council."
"Doug Manditch has been a strong supporter of the Child Care Council of Suffolk for many years. He generously started a scholarship fund for those working in child care to advance their professional skills. Through his support of the Council, we are able to enhance the quality of life for young children throughout our community. I am thrilled to be able to honor Doug and do so with gratitude and appreciation," said Janet Walerstein, the council's executive director.
