United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP/NYC) selected Juliette Lam, director of Interiors for HOK NY, as a recipient of its "Women Who Care" honors. The award was presented at the 8th annual Women Who Care Luncheon on May 5th at Cipriani 42nd St. Women Who Care was created to honor female role models representing various segments of the community. It is a celebration of women who have blazed new paths, broken glass ceilings and inspired others to achieve. UCP/NYC bestows these honors in celebration of business leaders, volunteers and everyday working heroes who devote their time, talent and resources to the care of others. Lam is a member of HOK's six-person management committee for the firm's N.Y. office. She works with corporate clients to develop innovative strategies for the workplace, as well as key interior design projects in the tri-state region. Lam also heads HOK's international Interiors Focus Group, which includes the firm's 26 offices worldwide. Her personality has helped her develop innovative interior design strategies for clients including Time Inc., Deloitte & Touche, Ann Taylor Inc., Viacom, John Wiley & Sons Publishing, DLA Piper, The Conference Board, Avon, and Lifetime TV. In addition, she led the design effort for the Kuwait National Assembly building following the first Iraq war and was awarded Designer of the Year by Interiors magazine. Lam has long been active in the New York real estate and civic community and is a member of the Board of the Brooklyn Philharmonic. "UCP/NYC is excited to be honoring Juliette Lam at our annual Women Who Care event," said Ron Napal, chief development officer of UCP/NYC. "Juliette's professional excellence and commitment to design innovation has positively impacted the lives of both her clients and the broader N.Y. community.
