Rochester Western N.Y. chapter 58 of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) is offering an updated comprehensive week-long IREM program on residential site management on May 11 through May 15, at The Democrat & Chronicle Training Center. Titled "Successful Site Management" (also known as RES201) the program will provide attendees with the skills needed to professionally manage all types of residential properties, with the goal of increasing retention and net operating income. Enhanced content addresses the needs of affordable housing and student housing audiences. Those who register for RES201 who seek to earn the IREM-conferred Accredited Residental Manager (ARM) certification, the most recognized credential for residential real estate managers, must pass the ARM exam given at the end of the program to complete the education requirements for certification. The test will be held on May 18. Other certification requirements include completing an ARM application, pledging to uphold the ARM Code of Professional Ethics, having 12 months of residential real estate management experience and meeting minimums of portfolio size and job functions. Specific topics program attendees will learn about include human resource management, legal and risk management, professional ethics, on-site maintenance management, property financial management and marketing and leasing. The program may qualify for continuing education (CE) credits from other associations as well as state real estate licensing agencies. The fee for the five-day course is $595 for IREM's Certified Property Manager (CPM) members and candidates, Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) members, Accredited Commercial Manager members, and employees of firms who hold IREM's Accredited Management Organization (AMO) accreditation. The course rate is $675 for IREM associate, student and academic members and $725 for non-members. It includes all training materials. Additional information and online registration are available in the education section of the IREM website at www.irem.org; or phone Nanette Stubbe, chapter 58 administrator at (585) 889-8040.
