U.S. Energy Group, a metro-New York leader in energy management systems, monitoring and analysis, partnered with Chicago's Minster Mechanical Sales, to replicate proven east coast fuel savings and efficiency results and bring U.S. Energy's products and services to the greater Chicago area. U.S. Energy Group's USE Controller Energy Management System (EMS) retrofits existing multifamily residential and class B and C commercial buildings to run at peak operating efficiency and USE Manager enables owners and managers to easily and effectively drive an entire portfolio of buildings. Minster Mechanical Sales has been serving Chicago since 1959, representing industrial and commercial boilers, water heaters and other HVAC systems products and working with leading contractors and mechanical engineering firms. "I'm thrilled to welcome Minster Mechanical Sales and Chicago's building owners and managers to the U.S. Energy Group family," said Jerry Pindus, chief executive officer of U.S. Energy Group. "Our New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area customers have saved hundreds of millions of dollars on energy costs each year, and expanding west to help drive energy efficiency in Chicago's buildings is exciting." Tom Scali, director of sales and business development for U.S. Energy Group, joined Dan Gordon and Tom Heitzman, principals of Minster Mechanical Sales, at the 2009 Chicagoland Apartment Association Trade Show and Education Conference on April 8, at the Drury Lane Theatre and Conference Center in Chicago. Together they showed area owners and managers how to drive their portfolios more efficiently and save money on energy costs. U.S. Energy Group's USE Controller Energy Management System (EMS) uses both indoor and outdoor temperatures to cycle the boiler more efficiently and prevent buildings from being overheated. Residents are more comfortable and do not waste fuel by opening their windows in cold weather. An inexpensive way to retrofit a building, the systems typically feature a savings of 15% or more on gas or oil consumption in year-one, with an extraordinary payback of under 2 years. The USE Manager online monitoring system provides an effective way for property managers to drive an entire portfolio of buildings to peak operating efficiency - and prove the results! Programmed alerts direct attention to the most critical alerts, allowing them to be addressed quickly, while the system's graphing capability provides dynamic "at a glance" visuals of critical heating system functions and documented fuel savings. The U.S. Energy Group product system is available from Minster Mechanical Sales. Prices are determined after a site-survey and vary based on the number and size of the buildings and the options selected.
