Long Island political leaders and real estate, architecture, and engineering professionals celebrated the opening of Stalco Construction, Inc.'s new headquarters building. Stalco principals Kevin Harney and Alan Nahmias performed the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the company's move into the new facility located at 1316 Motor Parkway. Suffolk County executive Steve Levy, Suffolk County legislator Cameron Alden; Islandia Mayor Allan Dorman; and Steven DeLuca, board of directors member of a non-profit organization Contractors for Kids, recognized Stalco for its contributions to Long Island's economy and community. Stalco purchased the 11,000 s/f headquarters building in 2007. The firm's in-house architecture, interior design, and engineering team designed the new facility. Stalco's construction group performed the $1.3 million exterior renovation and complete interior fit-out of the office and warehouse sections. The interiors feature a striking lobby, a conference room, executive and administrative offices, and support facilities. "We welcome Stalco headquarters to Suffolk County and we are excited about the many jobs that brings with it," said Levy. "We're very proud to officially open our new headquarters building in Islandia. Today's celebration is a testimony to the skill and dedication of our amazing team of project managers, superintendents, tradesmen, and support personnel," said Harney. "Stalco Construction is an impressive example of how creative, well-managed companies continue to grow, hire new employees, and contribute to the local community even during a recession. Stalco's commitment to its clients, personnel, and the families of Long Island makes it an exemplary corporate citizen. In addition, I would like to commend Kevin Harney and Alan Nahmias for having the vision to help others by founding the not-for-profit organization Contractors for Kids," said Alden. "Stalco Construction's success and development into an $80 million general contracting and construction management organization would not be possible without the trust and support of our clients, architects, and consultants. We thank you for providing us with the opportunities to build some of the most prominent projects in the Greater New York area," said Nahmias. Stalco Construction, Inc. is a full-service, turn-key general contracting and construction management firm active on Long Island and in the Greater New York area. Established in 1992, the firm builds commercial and institutional facilities for office, retail, educational, healthcare, governmental, cultural, and religious clients. Stalco's personnel includes engineers, architects, projects managers, superintendents, and support staff. The value of the firm's ongoing ground-up, interior, and capital improvement projects is $80 million. Since the firm's inception, its leadership and employees have been involved in supporting the local community through responsible corporate citizenship and charity work.
