Long Island City, NY Sholom & Zuckerbrot Realty (S&Z) has named Josh Segal a managing director, according to Sanford Zuckerbrot, chairman of the firm. Segal, who rejoins the firm to assume his new post, was with S&Z for five years in the early 1990s as an associate broker. He has had a 20-year career as a real estate professional, working in all aspects of the industry throughout the city's five boroughs. In his new role at S&Z, he teams up with Larry Smith, an S&Z partner.
He is a member of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) retail and economic development committees, Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association (YM/WREA), and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He holds a bachelor's of science in Quantitative Analysis from NYU's Stern School of Business and a master's of science in Construction Management from NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate.
Previously, Segal was with Segal Realty Group, LLC. As a managing member and broker, he handled all operations of the real estate brokerage firm, which specialized in the sale and leasing of industrial, retail and commercial properties, as well as development sites throughout N.Y.C. One of his most notable roles was as the retail consultant with The Lansco Corp. on the successful bid for Municipal Parking Lot Number One in downtown Flushing, Queens, which will be the site of a 2 million s/f mixed-used development.
