AKRF, Inc., a leading environmental, planning and engineering firm, has named Jessica Zanca, AICP technical director at its Long Island office. Â
Zanca brings to the position extensive experience in permitting and evaluating land use, zoning, and public policy as well as air quality and natural resources. Â Zanca has managed numerous planning and environmental impact studies since joining the firm in 2000, for both public and private entities throughout Long Island including the Long Island Power Authority, Benjamin-Beechwood LLC, and the Town of Southampton to name a few.
"AKRF is excited to have Jessica taking on this position at our Long Island office," said Dr. Stephen Rosen, chairman of the board of AKRF. "Jessica's leadership and expertise will allow us to continue to provide the high-quality services that municipalities and developers have come to expect from AKRF."
Prior to joining AKRF, Zanca worked for Tyree in the Wet Chemistry Department, and for Environmental Resources Management in the Engineering Group. Â
Zanca holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of New Hampshire, and an M.P.S. in Environmental Engineering from the State University of New York's College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She is also a member of the American Planning Association (APA), and is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
