Floris Spa, has opened a new 5,336 s/f spa at the newly renovated East Meadow Commons shopping center located on the north side of Hempstead Turnpike at Wantagh Parkway and will employ over 10 people. Floris Spa is a 25-store chain with four locations on Long Island.
According to Helen Kwon, vice president of operations, "the new location is one of our largest and will offer facials, massage, nail, body treatment, and hair services."
Nassimi Realty began major renovations and expansion of the 52,000 s/f East Meadow Commons in 2006, converting a former roller skating rink into 30,000 s/f of retail space and a former Pep Boys center into a high-end multi-store building. Renovations have included new roofs and front facades as well as an expanded parking lot. Other tenants in the center include Joyce Leslie women's apparel, a Sherwin Williams paint store and a FEDEX Office location.
Mike Nassimi, president of Nassimi Realty, said, "East Meadow Commons represents a great opportunity for our company and our retail partners. Nassau County is a hot market and East Meadow fits our criteria for rehabilitating and repositioning older underperforming properties. We look forward to announcing the opening of additional stores in the near future."
