NYSCAR to hold strategic planning session on Feb. 22-23

February 6, 2009 - Brokerage
As I write this letter, we are preparing for our upcoming NYSCAR board of governors meeting and strategic planning session which will be held at the Craftsman Inn in Fayetteville, February 22-23. We are fortunate to have Jim Peters, RCE, CAE, e-PRO from Columbia, South Carolina to moderate the strategic planning session. Jim is a visionary and strategist with many years of experience leading Realtor associations through periods of dramatic change. He introduced mediation to the Realtor organization and later helped expand this into the National Realtor Dispute Resolution System. He was a visionary in coordinating the development of the first ever computerized property and tax records system and a motivational speaker on a wide range of issues including "coping with change," political involvement and being the best you can be. During the strategic planning session, the group will discuss current issues and trends, strengths and weaknesses of the association, opportunities and threats for the industry and the association, as well as critical issues and goals. We look forward to a great session. I want to remind everyone that there are some great education opportunities available in the upcoming months, including the 8th Annual NYS Commercial Real Estate Conference, sponsored by the NYSCAR, the NYS chapters of CCIM/SIOR and the Society of Exchange Counselors., June 1-3 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. We invite potential sponsors to take advantage of a fantastic opportunity this year as the prices to exhibit have been cut in half from last year to accommodate companies in these challenging economic times. Please email Ali Mann at [email protected] for sponsorship information. In addition to the marketing session, golf outing, leasing roundtable, continuing education courses, welcome reception and great networking, there will be a pre-conference CCIM Intro course held on Saturday and Sunday (May 30-31). Don't miss out on being part of the premier networking event of the year! You can't beat the value. Mark your calendar now and plan to attend. Also, please check www.nyscar.org for the following courses: * On March 16, NYSCAR in cooperation with the Metro LI chapter of NYSCAR will present an "Introduction to Creative Marketing of Commercial-Investment Real Estate," instructed by Robert Giniecki, CCIM, SEC.
