Yisroel Zelcer, a student at the Institute of Design and Construction (IDC), is a recipient of this year's Fred L. Liebmann Book Award from the New York Society of Architects, according to Vincent Battista, R.A., executive director of IDC. The award, which provides recipients with significant architectural books for their professional libraries, is presented on an annual basis to outstanding second-year students at Metropolitan-area architecture schools. Zelcer, nominated in recognition of his academic excellence, will be receiving his associate degree in architectural technology in June. "The NYSA awards ceremony is one of my favorite events, because it not only honors industry luminaries for their achievements, but it also gives encouragement to the next generation of architects," said Battista, who attends the ceremony every year. "There are a lot of talented students at IDC. Awards such as these inspire them to pursue their career goals." Founded in 1947 by Vito Battista, R.A., IDC is a private, nonprofit institution registered by the New York State Department of Education, accredited by the New York State Board of Regents.
