The Pike Company and Dewberry plan to work together on the design and construction phase services for the Fort Hamilton Armed Forces Reserve Center. Dewberry is the prime designer for Pike's design-build team on the $56 million project that will greatly increase Fort Hamilton's capabilities as a vital component to America's military and national security and to New York City's frontline defense. The project includes the design and construction of a new 123,000 s/f Armed Forces Reserve Center, a 3,500 s/f maintenance training building and other new facilities that include classrooms and arms rooms, providing units with a modern and revitalized environment that will support the National Guard units and active duty personnel. Dewberry will provide overall project management, as well as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, structural and geotechnical engineering. The project is a part of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Report to renovate and build Armed Forces Reserve Centers across the country in order to consolidate existing and outlying Reserve and National Guard facilities to best support retention and recruitment, as well as provide administrative support. Construction is expected to last 30 months.
