Nuruz Rahman, CPA and partner at Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP (MWE, Garden City, N.Y. and New York, N.Y.), a leading certified public accounting and business advisory firm, has been selected as one of the "40 Under 40" outstanding members of the Long Island business community. The honor, which has been awarded annually since 1998 by Long Island Business News, recognizes the region's "best and brightest" and includes entrepreneurs, professionals and representatives across the corporate, financial, high tech, government, education and not-for-profit sectors. Rahman was honored for his dedication and contributions to MWE, where he has served for the past 15 years, and co-founded its successful mentoring program; one of the first at a regional CPA firm. Now in its 10th year, the mentoring program has been instrumental in developing other high caliber accounting professionals at MWE and dramatically increasing the firm's retention rate. At MWE, Rahman serves in the Financial Services Practice Group, where he assists in a compliance and advisory capacity for many of the firm's financial clients, including two of the world's largest privately-held hedge funds as well as clients within the real estate area. Over the course of his career, he has provided critical services to MWE clients including due diligence on several high profile acquisitions.
