Schwartzberg of Sutton & Edwards elected president of CIBS

Jeffrey Schwartzberg, SIOR, was elected president of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island. His two-year term begins Jan. 1. Schwartzberg is a senior director-industrial properties at Sutton & Edwards Inc., of Lake Success, which he joined in 1999.
CIBS also elected three new executive board members, elected a new member to its board of directors and re-elected an incumbent board member.
David Pennetta, principal and executive vice president of Jericho-based Oxford & Simpson Realty Inc., was elected vice president.
Gary Joel Schacker, SIOR, a principal of Melville-based United Realty, was elected treasurer.
Jack Britvan, SIOR, principal of Woodbury-based Commercial Realty Services of Long Island and a founding member of CIBS, was elected secretary.
Kyle Burkhardt, a director in the Ronkonkoma office of Lake Success-based Sutton & Edwards Inc./TCN Worldwide was elected a board member.
Philip Shwom, SIOR, CCIM, president of Melville-based Schacker Realty Corp. was re-elected to the CIBS board.
"As we enter a new era of economic challenges, I look forward to continuing to build upon CIBS' strengths and the integrity of the industry that we have worked so hard to develop," Schwartzberg said in outlining his plans for CIBS.
"Specifically, I look forward to getting our younger members and associates more involved in our mission, while raising awareness of CIBS and the valuable contributions we make to the communities we serve and the organizations that we partner with and support."
