TECHNICO Construction Services and MMA Architects to build K680 Harbor Middle Sschoool for NYCSCA

Brooklyn, NY TECHNICO Construction Services is proud to begin a new chapter with the upcoming construction of K680 Harbor Middle School, a new 97,700 s/f three-story educational facility for the NYC School Construction Authority (NYCSCA). Designed by MMA Architects, the new school will bring together a diverse range of academic, athletic, aquatics, performing arts, and student support spaces within a single purpose-built facility.

The complexity of K680 will extend well beyond the classroom. The new facility will feature a steel-framed superstructure supported on deep pile foundations, an architectural precast façade incorporating brick, terracotta, limestone, and granite finishes, and a landscaped green roof designed to contribute to sustainability and stormwater management.

Inside, a comprehensive program will bring together specialized academic and special education classrooms with a full gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, auditorium, and performance spaces, cafeteria and commercial kitchen, as well as student, faculty, administrative, and support areas.

The project represents the coordination of complex structural, architectural, MEP, and specialty systems within a single purpose-built educational facility. More importantly, K680 is being developed as a lasting community asset. Bringing nearly 100,000 s/f of educational, athletic, aquatics, and performing arts space to students and the surrounding community.
